Our Blessings

So many good things have come from beating this disease, it's hard to list them all here. Here's a good start. Many of them are already mentioned in the Email section of this site.

Fighting the disease has:

• strengthened our faith - Marcy has rededicated her life to Christ
• reminded both of us what is really important
• brought us closer to friends and closer to both our parents
• given us a stronger desire to help other people
• showed us how strong and compassionate our friends

We have so much more than we did before the disease. And we're getting more every day. We've learned how be still long enough to see the joy around us.

Many of our friends have shared sides of themselves that we never knew. We've learned to look each person we talk with in the eye and ask about a side of them we don't know.

By our sharing first, we have had the great pleasure to allow others to share with us. From the friend whose blindness was healed through prayer to the friend whose son was cured of an incurable virus after being anointed with oil, and many more, their stories are truly amazing.

In our first eight years together, Marcy and I had never prayed together. We have now started a habit that we will continue.
