Marcy felt even worse yesterday, sleeping most of the day. The time she was awake she was very sleepy and it was very difficult for her to blink her needs. After I had given her the second dose of methadone she said she couldn't take that any more. She did say she didn't have as much pain yesterday, but I'm guessing the methadone was knocking her out. She also asked for 4 Oxycodones total yesterday. Last night she blinked she wasn't getting enough air, even though the vent settings were normal (10 bpm & 700ml volume.) I increased to 12 bpm & 750ml for about 20 minutes, she said it was better and I returned the settings to normal.
I stayed close to Marcy yesterday. I washed Darcy's clothes and cleaned the guinea pig cage.

Darcy went to church with Jo yesterday. Jo came over yesterday afternoon and they took pictures. (Sorry, Darcy, I stole this from your fb page!) |

Marcy still feels pretty miserable. She doesn't need a lot of suctioning, her secretions aren't green, and she doesn't seem to be feverish. But she asked for a lot of pain medicine yesterday: 7 Oxycodones total plus she allowed me to try the methadone that Dr. Reid prescribed for chronic pain - then an hour later asked for Morphine.
I stayed close to Marcy yesterday, cared for her, and cleaned up around the house.
Darcy went to her soccer game yesterday morning then came home and caught up on her TV shows with Marcy: Monk, Project Runway, Survivor, and White Collar. Last night she went to a bonfire with friends (parents drove) and had a great time.
Matt worked yesterday 9a-5p, came home for supper and to watch last week's TV shows with Marcy: The Office, Community, and Soup. He left about 9p to go back to Murfreesboro for at least last night.
Today's Bearing: Colossians 2: 6-10; Application: Abounding in thanksgiving.

Marcy felt worse yesterday. Culture results yesterday showed she had the same pseudomonas so she started back on the IV antibiotics and added Tobramycin, an inhaled antibiotic. Oxycodones yesterday: 2 at noon, 2 at 6p, and 2 with her bedtime meds. She has already asked for 2 Oxycodones with her 6a meds today. She asked for the vent setting to be turned down to 8 bpm late last night and that's where it is today.
Kelly was here yesterday. When Marcy takes Oxycodone, it is very difficult for her to keep her eyes open, so it is hard to know what Marcy is blinking. Marcy had wanted to practice communication with Kelly more, but yesterday was not a good day for that. Kelly and I stayed close to Marcy. Kelly also worked more in the sun room and cleaned the refrigerator some.
Our friend Barbara was scheduled to come give Marcy a massage but we waved her off because we had lots of other visitors. John and Karen brought more items for the next Encores and More consignment sale and visited for a little while. Mark, the landscaper, came and vacuumed all the leaves out of the yard - I heard the machine, but he was gone before I could look out the window to see what it looked like. Jake, from ClearView's Empty Nesters class, brought supper early and visited for a little while.
Darcy did homework after school then went to soccer practice last night.

Tuesday morning Marcy approved my column for this week, Going Green with Love, scheduled to publish today.

Marcy had a better day yesterday. The IV abx arrived, but she decided to wait on culture results, didn't seem to need as much suctioning and secretions are not green. She asked for 2 Oxycodones with her 6a meds yesterday (but not today) and 3 at 6p and 3 with her bedtime meds.
Kelly worked her first day yesterday and she and Marcy enjoyed each other very much. In addition, Kelly helped me reorganize the sun room.
Our friend Kim (daughter of Deanna, who brought the Fiesta in the 11/10 update) ran an errand for us. I saw on his website that Governor Mike Huckabee was in Nashville last night doing a book signing. Marcy and I had planned to go, but Tuesday night Marcy told me she didn't feel up to it. I wanted to invite Huckabee's Little Rockers to record a song for Music for Marcy. I wrote a note and Kim hand delivered it to Governor Huckabee for us. She said he seemed interested in doing it for us.
Darcy went to Brooke's house after school and as we started supper was called for a baby sitting gig last night. She was home about 9p.

Marcy still feels bad. She told me last night she can't wait on culture results (drawn yesterday) to start back on antibiotics - I told her we could try to get back on the prior abx until the culture results tell us differently. She had 8 Oxycodones total yesterday (2 ea, 4x) and didn't change the vent settings. I'll mention the vent settings in future updates only if there are changes.
Kara was here yesterday and styled Marcy's hair. I was home most of the day cleaning and organizing, getting ready for Marcy's family coming for Thanksgiving.
If you have or have access to a carpet cleaner, I would love to borrow it for a few days. Just email me and I'll make arrangements to pick it up and return.
Also, Kristine (the same Kristine who came to the house to style Darcy for homecoming - see 10/2/09 Update) owns a home cleaning company and wants to help clean. Yesterday she brought 2 of her girls from Clean with Bella Green and they worked for 2 hours.
Darcy texted me from school saying friends were talking about a new frozen yogurt place in downtown Franklin. I had seen it and was curious about it, too. Darcy and I went to Sweet CeCe's yesterday after she got home from school. It is very cool and we'll go back. We made it home in time for me to walk the dogs and Darcy to do her homework.
