Still very tired

12/24/09 | by Rob [mail] | Categories: Home, Kara Here

Marcy was still very tired yesterday and difficult to understand. She asked for Oxycodones yesterday only with her bedtime medicines last night.

Kara was here yesterday and wrapped presents with Marcy. Darcy, Sunny and I rode in the van to pick Cricket up from Franklin Kennels (Matt dropped him off for us at 8a yesterday.) We brought Cricket and Sunny back home and switched to Darcy's car so she could drive the car she wanted. We went to the U-Haul store to fill propane tanks for the grill, the Honey Baked Ham store to use our gift card (from my cousin Julie) for a turkey breast for Christmas Day, to Whole Foods for supplements for Marcy, the mall (on Christmas Eve Eve - gasp!) for a gift for one of Darcy's friends, and Publix to pick up the "Happy Birthday Jesus" ice cream cake Marcy ordered for Christmas Day. Mostly we were staying away from the house so Marcy could have time to give Kara instructions without us hearing or seeing anything we weren't supposed to see.

Before and after our excursion, Darcy cared for (and played with) Charlie - her foster kitten. He is very playful, very cute, and purrs loudly anytime anyone walks in the room.

After taking Cricket for us in the morning, Matt came home and slept more before leaving to work 2-9, then went straight to Murfreesboro to bring home some things for the Christmas break from school. He spent the night with friends in Murfreesboro.

Today's Bearing: Matthew 4: 1-2; Application: The longest I have ever fasted was 3 days. I have always thought this verse was an understatement. But reading these verses again this morning, I think of how the contestants on "Survivor" look and act after 39 days - and they were allowed to eat!

Daily Prayer for Marcy: God's continued healing manifestation. Total relief from pain and discomfort.

Still a few openings in December's Dinner Calendar.

Wrapping and temporary kitten

12/23/09 | by Rob [mail] | Categories: Home, Kara Here

Marcy was still very tired yesterday and it was difficult to understand her blinks. She asked for Oxycodones yesterday only with her bedtime medicines last night.

Kara was here yesterday for 1/2 day. She wrapped presents for Marcy while Darcy and I went to the bank, the post office, and to Happy Tales to pick up Charlie - a kitten for Darcy to foster until she goes back to school. When we got home, Marcy helped me wrap presents.

Garland and Gretel brought supper last night, visited for a while, and prayed for Marcy. They leave to visit family in Omaha today and will be gone for a week.

After they left, Darcy joined us to watch the movie "Up." I think Marcy slept through most of it, but Darcy and I liked it a lot.

Matt made it home from his sleep over about 11:30a yesterday, worked from 2-9p, came home, and stayed in last night.

Today's Bearing: Luke 6: 17-19

Daily Prayer for Marcy: God's continued healing manifestation. Total relief from pain and discomfort.

Lots of openings in December's Dinner Calendar.

A little perkier

12/22/09 | by Rob [mail] | Categories: Home, Kara Here

Marcy was a little perkier yesterday. She asked for Oxycodones yesterday only with her bedtime medicines last night.

Marcy spent much of the early afternoon blinking a list of things for me to do around the house. Kara was here yesterday and styled Marcy's hair.

Darcy was home most of the day yesterday and went to Scott's house last night for "movie night" with friends.

Matt worked yesterday 9a-5p then went rock climbing. At Marcy's request, he invited Darcy to go climbing with him, but Darcy had already made the plans to go to Scott's house. Matt came home about 8p, changed, and went back out with friends, spending the night out.

Today's Bearing: John 15: 9-10; Application: Abiding in love.

Daily Prayer for Marcy: God's continued healing manifestation. Total relief from pain and discomfort.

Lots of openings in December's Dinner Calendar.

Day of rest

12/21/09 | by Rob [mail] | Categories: Home

Marcy slept almost all of yesterday. It was very hard to see what she was trying to say when she blinked. She asked for 2 Oxycodones yesterday about 4p and 2 with her bedtime medicines last night. She did not ask for Oxycodones with her 6a meds this morning, but asked for a Valium.

I stayed close to Marcy. I cleaned the guinea pig cage and organized items for marking for the Encores and More consignment sale.

Darcy drove to ClearView yesterday morning. Her afternoon plans fell through.

Matt worked from 9a-5p yesterday then came home and ate with us. We all watched (Marcy dozed through) "Blades of Glory" during and after supper. Then Matt and Darcy went shopping together for a couple of hours. After shopping, Matt went out to be with friends and was home about midnight.

Today's Bearing: Mark 10: 26-27; Application: Praying for the impossible.

Daily Prayer for Marcy: God's continued healing manifestation. Total relief from pain and discomfort.

Lots of openings in December's Dinner Calendar.

A little perkier

12/19/09 | by Rob [mail] | Categories: Home, Kara Here

Marcy slept until 1:30p yesterday then was a little more perky than she has been being. She only asked for Oxycodones with her bedtime medicines last night. I don't know that she is feeling that much better, I think the 200mcg of Fentanyl patches have been helping.

Kara was here yesterday. I washed Marcy's hair and Kara styled it for today's Nutcracker outing. John and Karen came by to drop off a couple of Christmas gifts and more items for the Encores and More consignment sale. Marcy blinked and we told Karen how much Marcy is enjoying the gowns Karen made for her. Marcy has one of those gowns on now, ready to go to The Nutcracker today.

After their visit, I went to Wal-Mart for a few things and made it back just in time to let Kara leave on time. Kara and Marcy had been marking items for the Encores and More consignment sale.

Darcy was home from school about 11a yesterday - after her last final. She changed clothes and went to Scott's house until time for supper. During and after supper we (Marcy, Darcy, and I) watched "Four Christmases" and liked it.

Matt made it home from Murfreesboro (his last final was Thursday night) about 1p and worked from 2-9p. From work he went to a farewell party for a couple of friends moving out of state and was home about midnight.

Kurtis Parks' new song added to Music for Marcy has really taken off in the voting. Have you heard it? Have you voted today?

Today's Bearing: Luke 7: 11-15; Application: Praying for the day Jesus presents Marcy to me!

Daily Prayer for Marcy: Strength for planned outing today. God's continued healing manifestation. Total relief from pain and discomfort.

Lots of openings in December's Dinner Calendar.
