Urinary Tract Infection
Marcy is feeling the effects of a urinary tract infection: feverish and achy. The home health nurse came to draw a sample yesterday and preliminary results show 3+ bacteria, which is fairly high. We're waiting on the speciation before taking antibiotics. Dr. Allison and Rita came to do another treatment yesterday. We told him about the UTI and he did an accupressure treatment for UTI's also.
Kara was here yesterday. She and Marcy marked items for the Encores and More consignment sale.
After sending our email to friends about Marcy's Ice Cream Bowl (email me if you didn't get it,) I rode to the Department of Human Services to drop off a form needed to keep our Medicaid and to WalMart for some perishables. I made it home in plenty of time to take the dogs for a long walk down to the park, then shower.
Darcy went to Coleton's house to swim in their pool and watch girl movies. Coleton asked Darcy not to tell anyone so he wouldn't lose "man points." Coleton's parents picked Darcy up about 4:30 and brought her home about 9:15.
Matt worked from 8a-4p then went straight to rock climbing. He was there and with friends until 11:15 last night.
Tuesday morning Marcy approved my column for this week, scheduled to publish today.

Very tired again
Marcy seemed very tired again yesterday. She has asked for Motrin already this morning and asked me to ask home health to come draw a urine sample. She must suspect a urinary tract infection. Dr. Allison, Rita, and Sierra came yesterday afternoon to administer a treatment.
Kara was off yesterday. Darcy watched TV with Marcy while I worked on an upcoming email to friends to announce Marcy's Ice Cream Bowl. Kelvin and Gertrude brought groceries yesterday and visited for a little while. Garland brought supper and stayed to pray.
Darcy cleaned her room yesterday.
Matt worked from 8a-4p, was home for supper, then out with friends until 11:45p.

New treatment helping
Marcy blinked "no fever" again yesterday afternoon, so she is feeling better and encouraged. Dr. Allison and his son Garren (Dr. Allison has 6 kids) came to the house about 1:30 yesterday afternoon to administer a treatment. Last night Marcy was using her speech synthesizer to control the TV and set new shows to record on TiVo - a sure sign that she is feeling better.
Kara was here yesterday and helped Marcy mark items for the Encores and More consignment sale.
I rode to Publix for perishables and talked to the manager about sponsoring Marcy's Ice Cream Bowl. He said he'll check with corporate, but he's sure the store will do something. Also went to The Franklin Skate Shop and they said they will donate a gift card for the prize for the kid's tournament.
I made it home in time to take Darcy (and our dogs) to Garland's to swim for over an hour. I worked on an upcoming email to friends to announce Marcy's Ice Cream Bowl.
Matt worked 9a-3:30p, went rock climbing, then was with friends until 11:30p when he came home to eat supper.

* The new treatment requires avoidance of certain foods on certain day's treatments. Yesterday was to avoid fruit & vegetables and yogurt. I liquified a grilled chicken breast and rice for Marcy last night.
Better?
I think Marcy felt better yesterday. Dr. Allison and Rita came to the house last night and did a treatment and Marcy had lots of other activities. She still isn't requiring much suctioning.
Kara was here yesterday, styled Marcy's hair, and marked Encores and More consignment sale items.
I submitted follow up documents for our loan modification application. Then Darcy drove us to run errands - mostly for Darcy. We dropped off DVDs, picked up a testimony of paralysis for Darcy's hardship application from Dr. Reid's office, took her laptop to Best Buy where they said the mother board needs to be replaced because the charging port has come loose and the computer won't charge properly (it is under warranty,) to the bank to have Darcy's hardship application notarized, then to the post office to mail the application.
We got home, ate quickly, then Darcy went to the movie "Transformers" with Coleton. Coleton is 15, so his parents (Sherry and Rob) drove. When they picked Darcy up, they came in to meet us and visited for a few minutes. We had lots in common. Coleton is active in their church's music program but he is also a football player - a tall, solid, good looking kid who smiles and looks you in the eye when he talks to you. We liked him and his parents. And Darcy had a good time.
The event was not without drama and teen angst, though. Night before last, Marcy blinked that she wanted to meet Coleton's parents before Darcy went to the movie. Darcy told us his parents weren't picking her up, that Matt was going to drop her at the theater. We told her that's not how it was happening. She acted as if we had ruined her life. But Coleton's mom called yesterday afternoon, happy to pick Darcy up and anxious to meet Darcy and us. I think the kids were just trying to make it easier on everyone by meeting at the theater.
Matt worked from 8a-4p, went rock climbing, was home about 7 to shower, then out with friends until 11:30p.

Something of a relapse
Marcy had something of a relapse yesterday. Instead of going out, yesterday noonish she gave me a list of things to do, asked for an Oxycodone, then watched movies with Darcy: "A Walk to Remember" which Darcy says is the best movie ever and "Confessions of a Shopaholic" which we saw at the theater but the girls wanted to see again. By nighttime Marcy was very tired. I didn't ask if she felt feverish. Hopefully the new treatment is helping, the relapse is because she missed two treatments, and when we start back on them, she will improve. Marcy skipped juice last night because she was so tired she didn't want to wait for me to make it before getting ready for bed.
After getting Marcy ready for the day, I changed Marcy's circuit, cleaned the guinea pig cage, washed clothes, and sent some follow up emails. Marcy's friend Susan sent her husband with a few more bags of items to mark for the Encores and More consignment sale.
Yesterday afternoon, Darcy watched Marcy while I rode to Blockbuster for a movie. In the parking lot of the Publix next door I saw Scott Hamilton, figure skater and Olympic gold medalist, putting groceries in his car. I knew he lived in the Nashville area (we saw him perform at The Nutcracker year before last and talked with him in the lobby) but not close enough to shop at our grocery store. I had a couple of flyers for Marcy's Ice Cream Bowl with me, gave him one, and asked him to be an ice cream judge. He said he would look at his schedule and call me. Before I talked to him, I noticed he took his cart back to the store and picked up two others on his way back. He is a very nice guy - even when he doesn't know people are watching.
Before their movies, Darcy went to church with her friend Jo. After the movies she cleaned her room.
Matt overslept and missed church. He cleaned his room, left to be with friends about 3p, was home for supper, then out with friends again until 11:45p.
