Another email from us.
Marcy
continues to feel well and is in good spirits. The most difficult
thing in her beating the disease is not doing anything.
She
"can't" just sit at home and relax. She is so active that
when she stays home all day, she gets stir crazy. She is constantly
looking for the next thing to do.
Once
she finds that thing to do, her enthusiasm and drive kicks in and
she has to be the best at whatever it is she's doing. She has to
really temper her natural tendencies to keep from overdoing it.
When she overdoes it, she gets tired and her right let will start
hurting again.
In
our last email a few weeks ago, we said we now have a mission to
help others. Marcy has used her energy to go to Bible studies, be
a Girl Scout brownie troop leader for Darcy, to volunteer at both
of the kids' schools, and to visit shut-ins one day a week through
Grace Ministries - and to her, that's taking it easy!
She
prays for and receives strength every day, but each of her new "jobs"
is able to continue without her if she needs to change a priority
on any given day. All I can do is warn the record book writers to
make room next to Billy Graham, Juliette Lowe, the Williamson County
School Superintendent, and Mother Teresa.
Also,
we hope to help people by posting these emails we have been sending
to a web site - http://www.everydayisprecious.com - along with the
Bible verses and books that helped us. The site is up now. We hope
that people find it helpful, that the URL is easy enough to remember
(every day is precious - without the spaces) that they can tell
friends about the site, and that many people can find comfort and
hope there.
In
the "Shared Stories" section of the site, we hope that
many people send us their stories so their miracles can be shared
with others.
We
plan to update the site often so that even if you've been to the
site before, you'll find new hope and comfort on a return trip.
Marcy
and I are alike in very many ways, but our drifting from the macrobiotic
diet has been a source of irritation between us. Since it was our
first action after prayer that produced positive results, I think
the diet is important to maintain.
But
I use food as fuel for my body. Marcy doesn't live for the next
meal, the way some people do, but she does look for more enjoyment
from eating than I. The diet is very bland and repetitive.
We
have talked it out and Sunday bought a macrobiotic cook book to
try to make meals more interesting and tasty. The first couple of
things Marcy has prepared from the book have been very promising
for us. The kids will take a little longer.
The
wet cell treatments and massages continue to help, so we continue
to do them. The time taken is during television's prime time hours,
so we have almost eliminated our television watching. So we dropped
our cable service to the bare minimum.
That
has been great for us. The kids groaned at first - they lost a few
cartoon channels - but they have already started other, more productive
activities. They do more playing outside, reading, and indoor games.
They even talk and interact more with each other and with us.
When
we count our blessings, how do we know where to start?
Thanks
for your continued thoughts and prayers. We count you as one of
our many, many blessings.
