A Body of Sells

Marcy has taken a little turn for the worse: this week she has been feeling more tired, more feverish and needing more suctioning. We have drawn samples to see if she has a bacterial infection that needs antibiotics.
 |
One of the things that may have contributed to her being tired was all the activity surrounding Matt's high school graduation 5/27. But as you can see from this photo, it was a good kind of tired.
Read about the blessings and details in my 6/1/07 column. |
Fungal testing is stalled for now. Our primary care physician, Dr. Reid, called last week to tell us that a patient's spouse has been convincing other patients and medical professionals that Dr. Reid's fungal theory, if not Dr. Reid himself, is flawed and should be abandoned because she says her husband got worse on antifungals. (If a patient did get worse while on an antifungal, I don't know how they know that's what caused it. ALS has a life of it's own and no one knows how or when it will progress.) Dr. Reid wasn't telling me this to whine, he was explaining why progress with fungal testing is stalled - why Marcy (and other patients) is (are) not being helped right now. I asked Dr. Reid to please try to get us some new, different, additional antifungal medicines to try as a test.

The May 4th and 5th concert drama "The Hole in the Fence" was a blessing to us. Not only did it generate some cash to help with our bills, we got to go to the Saturday matinee.
There were more people there than this cell phone picture shows - we got there early!

We have decided that rental and time share options for the motor home are going to be complex and time consuming, so we are now trying to sell it outright. Click here for more info.
The tow dolly sold within 24 hours of placing it in our friend Garland's front yard. |

Insurance paid for new batteries for Marcy's old power wheelchair so we can now try and sell it. If you know someone who needs one, please tell them to check it out at EveryDayIsPrecious.com/ForSale/

After graduation Matt took a few days off work at Office Depot.
Now he's in a pattern of working 30-40 hours a week and hanging out with friends for 128-138 hours a week.

This summer Darcy is doing some vacation plant watering, dog walking, neighborhood baby sitting, and baby sitting at our neighborhood club house.
She rides her electric scooter (from Christmas before last) to "work."

We have been blessed to have our dinner calendar nearly full for several months. So much so that a few people have complained they couldn't squeeze in. It seems we are on a "summer schedule" now and there are lots more opportunities to volunteer. Click here to see the schedule and click here if you would like to bring dinner for us this summer.
We continue to get positive feedback from my weekly column in the Tennessean. If you missed them and want to read them, here are links to the Tennessean site for ones written since our last email:

We continue to be blessed daily. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - it is how we make it. Please forward this email to friends, especially if you think we might be able to help them in any way. Donations can still be sent to 2051 Harvington Drive, Franklin, TN, 37069.
We believe daily that God is going to totally restore Marcy. We continually thank God for your prayer and care.
Love.
