5/28/04 Do It eBay!

Sorry it's been a while since sending one of these updates, but I have have been pretty good about posting daily updates. There are a couple of time sensitive things we wanted to let you know about.

Marcy's Health

You may remember from our last update that we had slowed down our PA treatments for financial reasons. Marcy saw what I hope is her lowest point the end of March. She was depressed, she asked me to ask people to pray for God to take her home. She said she just wanted to make it to Matt's 15th birthday (April 21, 2004.) She asked me not to let doctors resuscitate her the next time something goes wrong.

When we thought about how the slump happened not long after the decrease in treatments, we increased the treatments back to what they were. She has since recanted all the prior requests and today is more like her pre-diagnosis self than she has been in years.

We are still looking for treatments to enhance and improve the PA treatment, but we believe even stronger than ever that the PA treatment is helping.

But it is still not cheap. So we are looking for ways to improve our finances as well. The PA folks are doing all they can for us to reduce costs, but we are working on other cost cutting and revenue raising ideas.

eBay Items Up

Thanks to my son Troy and all of his hard work during a recent visit, we have a couple dozen items up for bid on eBay. Most are brand new in the box or rarely used items left over from photo shoots.

See all of our items up for bid by going to this link or by going to eBay.com and looking at all items sold by seller: everydayisprecious.

Read the story about Troy's help in getting our items on eBay in today's (5/28) column in the Tennessean.

Run Coming Up

A friend of ours is putting together a 10K run to benefit Marcy. The date is still tentative, but it will probably be in early October.

The Book Is Done

And we have sold a couple hundred copies of our new book. You can now pay online with a PayPal account.

You can still order books by going to the order page.

Still lots of ways people are helping

Our dinner care givers continue to be one of our biggest blessings. It's never been easier to pick a night to bring or send dinner to our house.

Friends are helping, but we are still looking for talent for the CD project.

Several friends have signed up to shop at any of hundreds of stores online through iGive. A percentage of sales goes towards Marcy's care. Click here to learn more and to start.

Specific Prayer Request

We ask with thanksgiving for all we have already received. Our specific prayer request right now is that Marcy continues to see even more strength - in her neck to support her head, in her hands and arms, and in her lungs - to make her able to go on a trip this Summer with the kids.

We continue to thank God each and every day for your prayer and care.
